Terms of Service

By inviting HoneyBot to your Discord server, you confirm that you are the server owner or have explicit permission from the server owner to add bots, and that you accept these Terms in full. If you are accepting on behalf of a community or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

HoneyBot is a Discord bot that provides automated security services including, but not limited to:

• Honeypot channel detection — a hidden channel that automatically identifies and actions accounts that post in it
• Full server scanning — real-time monitoring of all accessible channels for scam patterns, spam links, and bot behavior
• Automated moderation actions — banning, kicking, or timing out accounts identified as threats

To deliver these services, HoneyBot processes message content and attachments (including images) in channels it has access to. Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy.

HoneyBot is currently in beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed at any time without prior notice.

You agree not to use HoneyBot to:

• Target or harass legitimate users, protected groups, or individuals
• Circumvent or attempt to bypass HoneyBot's detection mechanisms
• Configure HoneyBot in a way designed to cause harm to innocent users
• Use HoneyBot for any purpose that violates Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or compromise HoneyBot's infrastructure

We reserve the right to remove HoneyBot from any server that violates these terms without prior notice.

HoneyBot takes automated moderation actions based on algorithmic detection. By enabling HoneyBot and its features, you acknowledge and accept that:

• HoneyBot's actions are automated and may not always be accurate
• False positives (legitimate users being actioned) may occur, particularly during the beta period
• You are responsible for monitoring HoneyBot's actions in your server and reversing any incorrect actions
• HoneyBot provides tools, not guarantees — we make no guarantee that all threats will be detected
• All moderation actions are executed within your server environment; you retain full control and responsibility for your server and its moderation decisions

We strongly recommend reviewing action logs regularly and providing an appeals process for users who believe they were incorrectly actioned.

HoneyBot is provided in beta, meaning the software is still under active development. During the beta period:

• Detection accuracy may be lower than a stable release
• Features and detection systems may produce inconsistent results during the beta period
• Features may be added, removed, or changed without notice
• The service may experience downtime or disruptions
• Bugs and unexpected behavior should be expected and reported

We appreciate your patience and feedback during this period. Bug reports can be submitted via our Discord support server.

HoneyBot is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that HoneyBot will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific security requirements. Security outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, including Discord platform changes and the nature of evolving threats.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data or community members resulting from automated actions
• Damage caused by threats that HoneyBot failed to detect
• Service interruptions or downtime
• Any unauthorized access to your server's data

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of HoneyBot shall not exceed the amount you have paid for the service (which, as HoneyBot is free, is zero).

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue HoneyBot at any time without liability. We may also update these Terms at any time. The “Effective date” at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of HoneyBot after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

You may stop using HoneyBot at any time by removing it from your server. We may also terminate or restrict your access to HoneyBot without notice if we determine that you have violated these Terms or Discord's own Terms of Service.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Turkey. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of HoneyBot will be resolved in accordance with those laws.

We reserve the right to implement rate limits, restrictions, or other protective measures to prevent abuse, excessive usage, or actions that may impact the stability or performance of HoneyBot. Servers or users found to be abusing the service may be restricted or permanently banned from using HoneyBot without prior notice.
